Manufacturer: Aventis Pharma Limited
Pharmaceutical name: Fexofenadine
Pack: 10 pills (180 mg)
Allegra (Fexofenadine) is an antihistamine that mitigates the effects of the natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can cause symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and a runny nose. Allegra is utilized for treating the symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever) in both adults and children. Additionally, Allegra is effective for alleviating skin itching and hives resulting from a condition known as chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children.

Fruit juices and certain antacids may inhibit your body's absorption of Allegra. It is recommended to take the disintegrating tablet on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour prior to or 2 hours after a meal. Other medications might also influence Allegra's effectiveness. Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal supplements. Avoid starting any new medication without discussing it with your doctor.

In case of suspected overdosing or any signs of an allergic reaction such as hives; difficulty breathing; or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, stop using Allegra immediately and seek emergency medical assistance.

Use Allegra precisely as indicated on the label or as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not exceed or reduce the recommended dosage or duration of use.

Take the regular tablet with a full glass of water, avoiding any other liquids. Shake the oral suspension (liquid) thoroughly right before measuring a dose. To ensure accurate dosing, use a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup, rather than a regular table spoon. If you lack a dose-measuring tool, request one from your pharmacist.

Seek emergency medical help if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction to Allegra, such as hives; difficulty breathing; or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Cease using Allegra and contact your doctor if you develop fever, chills, body aches, cough, or other flu-like symptoms.
